Hello
Welcome! I am so glad you're here!
I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in Seattle, WA. My PhD is in Clinical Health Psychology and I'm an ACT therapist. In my practice I work with all kinds of people. If you're interested in working with me for therapy, head on over to www.annacharbonneau.com because this website isn't for that.
This is a place for everything else I love, especially healing in community.
My Story
In 2016 (almost 10 years ago, to the day I'm writing in 6/29/26), I was going along in my ordinary life. I had finished my PhD and my post-doc, I had written a book, I was married, I had traveled the world as a nomad for a few years. By all outside standards, I had my life together. Inside, I was anxious at times, pretty depressed at times, and full of all kinds of judgments towards myself and others. And, I say this now with a lot of love, I pretty much thought I knew everything-how I should be, how other people should be, how the world worked. And then, I had what I now know is called a spontaneous spiritually transformative experience. It was like what I've read of a Near Death Experience, but without the dying part. You can read the full story here.
So within a few short months towards the end of 2016, I found myself divorced, returning to Seattle, following my dream of opening my own private practice, and holding space for people in therapy in an entirely new way. That experience profoundly changed me. When I read about people having similar experiences through psychedelics, I was so interested. If more people could experience what I had, then we could shift things collectively, together. In 2021, I completed the MAPS training for therapists interested in working with psychedelics. Holding space for people preparing for psychedelic journeys and integrating their experiences afterwards was the next step of my practice, and something I've been cherishing for the past five years.
Which brings me to now. I have been working with individuals in therapy for the past 10 years, and one thing I am waking up to is the incredibly power of healing in community. It's one thing to sit with one person and hold space, it's another thing entirely to be learning from each other, listening, encouraging, reflecting with others who are actively working to heal their own hearts, undo generational trauma, shift their own patterns to start living in a new way.
There are so many areas of interest I have that fall outside the traditional clinical psychology path, including dreams, working with dreams for healing, and exploring spirituality. I have been working with my own dreams for years, and experimenting with sharing dreams in community. This website is quite literally the work of my dreams!
